About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications, with a strong focus on integrating various third-party and internal APIs into our core technology stack. The ideal candidate is passionate about modern JavaScript/TypeScript runtimes (Node.js, Deno, Bun), experienced with serverless architectures, and proficient with the Cloudflare ecosystem (Workers, Pages, R2, KV, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using TypeScript and Node.js (with potential exposure to Deno and Bun).
• Develop and manage serverless functions and applications, particularly utilizing the Cloudflare Workers platform and related services (KV, R2, Durable Objects, Queues).
• Integrate diverse external and internal APIs seamlessly and securely into our existing core systems.
• Collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features and solutions.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Implement robust security measures and data protection protocols.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing backend systems.
• Stay current with emerging backend technologies, serverless trends, and best practices, particularly within the JavaScript/TypeScript and Cloudflare ecosystems.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Node.js development.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with serverless concepts and architectures.
• Demonstrable experience developing and deploying applications using Cloudflare Workers and ideally other parts of the Cloudflare developer stack (e.g., KV, R2, Durable Objects).
• Experience designing, consuming, and integrating RESTful APIs (experience with GraphQL is a plus).
• Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or serverless databases).
• Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
