Summary
The Financial Markets team drives institutional adoption and Hedera ecosystem growth through strategic funding and deep market integration. In sustainable impact we partner with leading institutions to finance impact through our network of project developers, builders and enterprises to accelerate commercial adoption and address global opportunities.
The Director of Sustainable Finance, Financial Markets plays a pivotal role in positioning Hedera as the preferred network for stakeholders within sustainable finance, credit, and carbon markets.
The ideal candidate will help establish Hedera's strong external reputation, while collaborating with relevant external partners to increase the quality, quantity and liquidity of sustainable finance applications and tokens built on the network.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development of financial instruments, supporting the digitally native and tokenized carbon market on Hedera, with an emphasis on carbon trading, credit markets and sustainable finance
- Foster ecosystem growth through commercial initiatives and market development programs
- Evaluate carbon projects, facilitate offtake arrangements with institutional buyers and trading partners
- Educate stakeholders on Hedera's technology and value proposition while working closely with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, risk, and business development
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality marketing, educational and policy related materials to be used in proposals and presentations to help engage industry stakeholders
- Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally as-needed
Requirements
- A strong understanding of capital markets trends, competitor activities, industry dynamics, and customer trends
- Leverages an extensive network of contacts in global financial and sustainable finance markets
- Clear communicator (written/oral) with excellent presentation skills; able to communicate complex, often technical topics in a compelling manner; comfortable presenting, influencing, actively listening and negotiating
- Team player, considered decision maker and independent self-starter
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency, bond and carbon rating agencies, green bonds and dMRV
- At least 5 years of investment experience related to trading, ESG/carbon/sustainability, securitization, investment banking, or other financial services

Pay Transparency Notice:
- The base annual salary for this position ranges from $171,000 - $209,000. Pay is based on several factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, relevant experience, and other relevant factors.
