About the role
We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the HashSphere engineering team. You will help design, build, and integrate key product features for enterprise businesses built on Hiero, for our private distributed ledger technology. This is a greenfield project at the cutting edge of decentralized systems and cloud technologies, with a focus on security, privacy, and scalability.
In this role, you will leverage your distributed systems engineering experience, software development skills, and understanding of industry standard SRE and DevOps practices to deliver core platform services. You will contribute to a highly scalable, mission-critical infrastructure product used by some of the largest companies in finance, supply chain, and healthcare industries.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Product Development team to transform customer requirements into actionable technical specifications
- Partner with the Head of SRE to shape the strategic roadmap and functional architecture for current and future product needs
- Develop and implement a strategy for leveraging and integrating open-source technologies, especially those from the Linux Foundation's Decentralized Trust ecosystem (Privacy, Identity, Interoperability, and Cryptography)
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of APIs, integrations, and platform services that interoperate with the core HashSphere DLT network.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering leads across the organization, including stay abreast of emerging Hedera native technologies/features, developing adoption/integration strategies for HashSphere, and advocating for feature development work
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and operational support of core HashSphere infrastructure services and customer deployments

Other skills that are great to bring with you but that we can help you develop:
- Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT):
- Familiarity with blockchain and DLT implementations in a private or consortium model
- Hands-on experience with the Hedera DLT, including using the Hedera SDKs, working with the Hedera Smart Contract Service, and understanding key services like the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) and Hedera Token Service (HTS)
- Familiarity with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) and the Smart Contract ecosystem (Solidity, Hardhat)
- Advanced Kubernetes Topology: Experience managing multi-cluster or multi-region Kubernetes environments, including cross-cluster service discovery, global load balancing (GLB)
- Resilient Global Architecture: Experience designing, deploying, and operating active-active, multi-region distributed services
- Industry Experience: A background working in a highly regulated, security focused industry such as financial, healthcare, or public sector/government
