About Swirlds Labs:

We are a fast-growing company built around a revolutionary technology — the hashgraph consensus algorithm. Hedera Hashgraph is well-suited to become the world’s first mass-adopted distributed public ledger because it is blazing fast, highly secure, and ensures fairness. We are on a mission to create a trusted and empowered digital future for everyone; a cyberspace where you work, play, buy, sell, create, and engage socially; where you have safety and privacy in your digital communities; where you feel confident when interacting with others; where you own and control your information. Join us and say, “Hello future.”

About the role:

Swirlds Labs has two main engineering focuses: first is building out and operating the decentralized Hedera network and the engineering lifecycle behind that. The second is offering free, centralized services for the Hedera ecosystem, and eventually some centralized paid-for products in the same vein.

This role is for the latter.: you will be primarily working with our engineering team to deploy and then self-service deploy their applications to production environments. Our aim is to build a bespoke platform as a service to allow feature teams to self-service their changes to production to minimize lead time and stack complexity: some of these offerings will be hosted offering of free and open source software for the Hedera ecosystem, others will be commercial offerings.

You and your team will be fully remote, and aiming for a ratio of five to one devops to engineers ratio. Work-life balance, continuous improvement, and first-class automation are all priorities for the team. An ideal candidate is a team player, an empathizer, a good communicator both written and verbal, and looking for opportunities to learn and grow with a like-minded team, and someone who really likes working with Kubernetes.

Qualification Requirements:

  • B.S in computer science or similar
  • At least 5 years of DevOps experience or similar
  • At least 3 years experience in running Cloud workloads (AWS, GCP, Azure, …)
  • At least 3 years running Terraform workloads
  • At least 3 years of Kubernetes experience
  • Familiarity and comfort working in a command-line Linux environment
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Comfort working with Git
  • Comfort and capabilities of productively working in a fully remote, no-office environment with a fully remote team on the same continent

Other skills that are great to bring with you but that we can help you develop:

Things you will be working with on the job which we don’t necessarily require you to know, and hey, if you do that’s great but this is largely to get you to know what the landscape is and what you’ll be learning:

  • Prometheus / Grafana
  • Ansible
  • Jenkins pipelines
  • Programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Bash
  • Github & Github actions
