Job Description

The Company is a UK-based technology company building a consumer-first rewards, incentivisation and fintech platform for advertising, media, retail and beyond.

The Company has a track record of more than ten years in the development of pioneering technology solutions and is focused on providing the infrastructure for businesses to connect to and interact with their customers maximising the value of consumer attention while respecting consumers’ data and privacy.

We are looking for a Back End Developer to produce scalable software solutions. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

As a Developer, you will be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

Hands-on programming of web and mobile user interfaces, backend and preparation for frontend related to the company’s technology with a focus on object-orientated programming. Reporting on the progress of development and programming projects and managing existing systems. Troubleshoot and identify issues as well as developing high end applications for end users and businesses. Report to the Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within the development team
  • Programming new features and functions as well as maintaining existing platforms
  • Working on projects to improve the scalability and stability
  • Translating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed product plans and product implementations and/or integration
  • Full life cycle projects development
  • Integrating with external technology and APIs
  • Monitor and report on progress of the project to Technical Manager and CEO

Requirements

  • 2+ programming experience
  • PHP knowledge is essential, along with MySQL and functional HTML & CSS. Familiarity with MVC frameworks, ODM database interfaces and build management tools such as Gulp are preferred. Knowledge of Node.JS, Golang, and mobile app development is considered a bonus.
  • Familiarity with unit testing and the ability to write DRY, well-commented code also preferred, as is the usage of Version Control
  • Familiarity with working as part of an Agile development team
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement professional coding practices and standards
  • Ideally Educated to BSc or MSc level in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Strong team player who enjoys collaborative working
  • A self-motivated person who can work in a demanding environment to strict timelines and on own initiative whilst maintaining the standards of the company
  • Creative, innovative thinker with good problem-solving skills
