Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that the products produced, and the manufacturing processes, meet Avery Dennison’s quality standards, working in conjunction with the quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operation leadership teams.

In your role as Quality Technician, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:

  • Inspect to and comply with company quality standards, as well as ISO 9001:2015 regulations.

  • Assist with maintaining complaint and non-conformance processing, including investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Conduct inspection and testing of incoming and outgoing product to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables.

  • Perform inspection with initial decision making of returned customer complaint items.

  • Monitor every stage of production to avoid product defects

  • Identify non-conforming products/materials, appropriately quarantine, and manage electronic documentation/transactions.

  • Assist with internal and external audits in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

  • Work with Quality Engineers to identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.

  • Monitor inventory aging, alerting appropriate staff regarding expired materials.

  • Recommend modifications to already existing production standards within the limits of available equipment capacity and capability

  • Other duties as assigned by quality management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma

  • Bachelor degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of inspection and/or production experience.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge or experience in quality assurance discipline.

  • Previous contract manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google and function specific software.

  • Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer generated reports.

  • Experience with using mathematical concepts.

  • Ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to execute overall requirements.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to define problems verbally and in writing

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experienced with six sigma and lean manufacturing is a plus.
