Job Description

Acting as a CFO for a dynamic and exciting region, you will lead the finance function to unlock the potential of Asia, deliver the short-term financial commitments and long-term strategic goals of Materials Group Asia Pacific (MG AP) under “ADQuest” which represents the journey toward these goals, emphasizing the importance of both learnings and achievements. You will partner with the Senior VP/ GM and the regional leadership teams, at both finance and chief operating capacity, to ensure goals and objectives are met and support the overall strategic, annual operating plan and forecasting processes. With the strong support from the Corporate finance functions, Shared Service Organisation (SSO), controllership, tax and treasury, you will go beyond reporting but adds value to the business through providing superior insights with financial data, identifies and supports opportunities and risks and helps set the financial direction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for shaping the finance function to drive excellence and productivity, leveraging on digitalisation. Managing all accounting and financial activities, with strong coordination with SSO and other Corporate Finance Functions.
  • Provide strong leadership and display agility in the areas of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cost accounting, capital expenditure, working capital and expense controls.
  • Strategic planning and development of finance strategies to meet profit, growth and ROTC objectives; sets medium and long-term financial and operational targets for MG AP.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analysis to explain current business trends, predict future opportunities and risks, and develop scenario planning
  • Continue to enable a sound control and compliance environment to meet US GAAP, local statutory and SOX requirements.
  • Monitoring and improving P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecast accuracy
  • Provide strategic leadership and lead change in business and organisation transformation, and define long-term vision and success for the region
  • Lead the finance digital journey for the region, including the recent roll out of Oracle and Robotic Process Automation
  • Lead the monthly business review calls with the regional team
  • Represent MG AP to explain the Asia performance to Corp team: quarterly business reviews, AOP and Strategic Plan
  • Build a high-performing and diverse finance team: business finance team of ~90 employees with support of ~90 employees from SSO and controllership team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance are required. An MBA degree is also highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, Accounting Principles and SOX guidelines
  • Have spent large part of the career operating in the finance function of large manufacturing MNCs and recent 8+ years operating as a CFO across Asia, with a proven track record of delivering solid management, financial and operational results
  • Possess credible experience in managing cross-cultural teams with essential focus in China, South Asia and ASEAN. Preferably to have worked in China before.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration and presentation skills with executive presence to work with senior management, investors, corporate functions and external stakeholders
  • Ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organisation and exercise sound judgment
  • Extensive experience in playing a leading role in business and organisation transformation is highly desirable.
