Job Description

We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager at our Peachtree City Facility that will report to the Site Plant Manager.

As the EHS Manager, you will serve as a key member of the site Leadership Team. Your key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Administration:

  • Serve as the site representative for EHS, network with all levels of leadership to drive and enrich site safety culture.

  • Oversee incident investigation and drive robust root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Implement EHS programs and develop facility-specific policies and procedures that reduce risk and drive compliance with regulatory and Company EHS requirements.

  • Integrate Company and facility-level EHS management systems to maintain compliance, environmental protection and safe operating conditions.

  • Track and regularly report on status of site regulatory compliance and improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain OSHA 300 log and complete all required annual OSHA / BLS reporting.

  • Ensure all required safety metric data, including corrective actions are entered and tracked to completion in the site’s electronic data system.

  • Participate in the MG-NA EHS Linkage Team, supporting overall Divisional EHS initiatives.

  • Develop, deliver, and track education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.

Safety:

  • Monitor status of written compliance / life safety programs and revise as required.

  • Organize and deploy a strategic risk / accident / injury reduction program.

  • Lead &/or participate in incident investigations for releases, injuries and near-misses

  • Act as a resource to establish and mentor facility safety teams.

  • Coordinate the Job Safety Analysis program and OSHA PPE compliance program

  • Work with site operations and purchasing to maintain the SDS system.

  • Conduct routine inspections of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations.

  • Drive continuous improvement by monitoring employee behavior and providing regular feedback and coaching to the site Leadership Team.

  • Serve as the point of contact for Property / Casualty Risk reduction initiatives and participate in claims reviews as needed.

  • Track employee engagement in training, participations, projects, etc and provide feedback to operations where improvements are needed.

Environmental

  • Serve as site point of contact with regulatory agencies

  • Maintain and update site Compliance Calendar to ensure all federal, state, and local reporting is completed on time.

  • Maintain compliance records to ensure they are ready to be inspected at any time.

  • Routinely inspect sources of air emissions, wastewater, storm water, and waste storage areas for compliance.

  • Maintain certifications as required to support environmental compliance programs (DOT, RCRA, Opacity, etc).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience of complex work assignment or educational project driving results on EHS work assignments with progressive complexity, depth and scope.

  • Advanced professional EHS certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, QEP, CEA, REM etc.) preferred but not required.

  • Experience with behavioral based safety processes desired.

  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and EHS policies, procedures and programs.

  • Good Project/Problem Resolution skills.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.

  • Experience with Enablon based platforms desired

  • Ability to think strategically, develop strategic plans, and have strong leadership skills with good interpersonal communications across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong mentoring, facilitating and training skills with the flexibility to support a 24 hour 7 day manufacturing schedule.
