Job Description
Avery Dennison is seeking a dynamic and driven Electroplating Manager to join our Reflective Solutions team. In this critical role, you will be pivotal in the development of advanced electroforming processes, particularly with nickel. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or metallurgy, combined with substantial experience in a leadership position within a manufacturing and research environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead and optimize electroforming operations to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Provide expert technical support to onsite operations, focusing on manufacturing process optimization, cost reduction, and throughput enhancement.
Support safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety protocols.
Lead the electroforming group to both support operational and R&D needs to support new tooling development and scale-up and technological advancements
Conduct detailed process analyses and equipment evaluations to develop optimal operating conditions.
Maintain a robust network of suppliers and drive continuous improvement across the facility.
Champion process optimization projects using DOE methodologies to enhance production line efficiency and product yields.
Oversee team performance, fostering a culture of innovation, motivation and excellence across production units.
Ability to work closely with the optics, laser and Mechanical tooling departments to help with the development and scaling of new product
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering. Masters or PhD preferred
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in an electroforming engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
Profound knowledge of electroforming, particularly nickel, is highly preferred.
Having a general knowledge in optics would be beneficial
Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills.
Advanced troubleshooting capabilities and innovative thinking.
Effective interpersonal skills to manage and collaborate with teams across various levels and functions.
